Anglo-Continental is one of the world's leading English language teaching organisations. Our school, founded in 1950, was one of the first to be recognised as efficient by the British Ministry of Education; and today our courses are regularly inspected and accredited by The British Council. Our schools and centres follow the strict codes of practice of The British Council and the professional association English UK. For more than 60 years our programmes have been enjoyed by successive generations of students of all ages and professions from all parts of the world.
Anglo-Continental is one of the largest schools in the UK. However, we are still a family run organisation and pride ourselves on our friendly personal service and efficient administration. We offer a choice of courses for everyone - from young students to senior citizens, complete beginners to advanced examination candidates, school and university students to business executives and professionals. We even teach teachers of English!

Our Student Services Staff
Our Student Services staff are here to help you during your stay and advise you on many aspects of life in England. They will help you with everything from arranging excursions, sports and leisure activities to booking coach tickets and revalidating flight tickets.

Our Teachers
The majority of our year-round teachers are diploma qualified* and highly experienced in a variety of areas. It is a minimum requirement that teachers have either the Cambridge CELTA or Trinity College TESOL Certificate.
Within our long-term team, a number of teachers have MAs in TEFL, others have qualified teacher status (QTS) and some have specialist subject qualifications. Teachers are also expected to have a degree level qualification.
A substantial number of our teachers have special responsibilities according to their own interests and areas of expertise.
* Recognised diplomas in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages are accredited by the QCA at level 7 of the National Qualifications Framework.

Young Learners Centre
The Anglo-Continental School for Young Learners, is located in the safe, secure environment of Bournemouth. It offers stimulating English language and Activity Courses for students aged 10 to 15.
A separate school building is dedicated to our young learners. There are comprehensive educational facilities, with recreational areas on the campus and nearby - and Anglo-Continental's award winning gardens for relaxation between lessons.

- 2 lecture rooms - one of which is also equipped with DVD/video and computer projection equipment
- 1 language laboratory with a seating capacity for 16 students (accessible by wheelchair)

- A well-equipped Multi-Media Learning Centre for students to use in their free time, including:
- 21 computers with Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) with
- Software programs at all levels from beginner to advanced
- DVD rooms with over 50 films at various levels
- Free student Internet/Email facilities
- Extensive range of listening and reading materials
- Private study room
- A spacious self-service restaurant offering a wide choice of hot midday meals and refreshments. This is a multi-purpose room seating 300 people (plus 150 on the terrace and garden) is used for discos, shows, social evenings, dances, table tennis and many other activities.
- Free Wireless Internet Access in the student restaurant for students with wireless enabled laptops and PDA's.
- A sun-terrace and spacious award-winning gardens.
- Pavilion - Multi-purpose covered area with cushioned sports floor - seating capacity 150.
